TV Boy had his first school sporting event today. He did a great job in his 1st ever cross country meet. He didn’t have his uniform yet and had only been to 2 practices. He ran a mile and half in 10:44.

I mentioned in a previous post that I have beens super busy. Usually when I do the soccer pics for TV Boy’s Soccer League, I don’t get around to getting his picture. Well, this season he made sure that I did, because he wants to have new pics for his profile on the Thunder website. Thought I’d share…
Tomorrow he is participating in his first school related sport, Cross Country. He’ll be running a mile and half. Go Tigers!

Last weekend TV Boy’s team played the USC boys from Huntsville. This team suffered a loss on August 31st, when one of their players passed away due to the Swine Flu. In remembrance of him our boys wore wrist bands with his number 18 on it. At the end of the game when shaking hands they handed the wrist bands to the other team. It was quite emotional. After our boys did that, the other team came over to us and shook our hands. The coach also came over and expressed his gratitude for the thought. It was quite emotional. We thought it was fitting the game ended in a tie.

Some of you may know that one my uncles, Uncle Guy, and my Dad have been involved in Race Across America in one capacity or another for several years. This year they are both officials in the race. They’re working separately. For those of you who don’t know, RAAM is a 3,000 mile race that’s completed in about 12 days. It starts in Oceanside, CA and ends in Annapolis, MD. Here’s a route map:

Of course what he is twittering will be delayed for obvious reasons. My Dad wants to ensure that no racer uses that to their advantage. Please keep my Dad in your prayers these next few weeks that he has a safe journey across America.

TV Boy has a mini-tournament in Birmingham today. It SNOWED on us on our way up there. Nice! LOL! It was in the 30′s and we froze. We played the #1 in the state and the other 2 were in the top 10 of the state. We tied against the #1 and the other 2 we lost. TV Boy got his first goal today and it was very exciting! Pics later:)

TV Boy was honored to be asked to be a player on the Aub*urn Thun*der Travel Soccer Team this spring. Normally you have to pay and go through try-outs, but the coach of the team called Friday night. He said he had seen TV Boy play and has seen his competitive nature, skills, and speed. We sat down as a family last night and discussed it and he was very excited to hear about the invitation. He, of course, said he wanted to do it. After having several seasons of rec league soccer, where kids don’t take it very seriously and don’t care much, the travel team should be right up his ally. The thing about it though is there’s 3 practices a week and a game, plus tournaments. Being that it’s spring Auburn Baseball will be starting and TV Boy and his dad have season tickets, so that was one of the negatives to this commitment. This is not only a major commitment for him, but a major time and financial commitment for Mr. Mag and me, but one that I hope he takes very seriously and enjoys.

I’ve been so busy with other things that I haven’t been able to post pictures from the party at Toomer’s Corner after the win against Florida. Such a SWEET win and a great birthday present, too!
