Clothing Labels {Free Downloads}

I made some labels for Monkey Boy’s clothing chest of drawers. I did this with TV Boy’s drawers awhile back and decided make some new ones for MB. I’ve actually made a couple different sets both in black & white and color. I printed out the labels, cut them out, and used packing tape over the entire label to secure them and make sure they don’t get torn with everyday use. I used the template Avery 5376 (Business Cards) in Word with borders. You could even use the actual business cards that come ready perforated to save some time.

The first set I made was for Monkey Boy who will be learning to read. He needs a font that is very clear so he can easily read the letters.

I did some with a little fancier, cuter fonts for the older kids. All come in a black & white, which you could print on colored paper as you see in my examples.

Junk or Treasure?

Posted by Magnolia Mom On February 25, 20091 COMMENT

We went last week to Texas. It was a very quick trip to see Grandmother and try to get all my stuff from the house. We brought a ton of stuff back. Nothing of great value and really when you look at it all, it looks like a bunch of junk! But one man’s junk is another man’s treasures, right? And most of this stuff I brought back is treasure to me. If you asked me how you box up memories, I’d show you the boxes of stuff sitting in my living room. I emptied 2 of the boxes last night. One of the boxes had scrapbooks and photo albums. For me being the photography junkie that I am, I was so happy to get my hands on all this stuff. I’m not going to give you an itemized listing of everything right now, but I plan to share some of the stuff that I come across.

Right now my plan is to try to get all the stuff I emptied from those 2 boxes put on shelves or somewhere not in the middle of my living room floor! From there I’m going to work on taking all the pictures out of the albums, because time has already started to yellow the pages and soon the pictures will be over taken by the acid from the album pages. I’ve got to find a way to keep 100′s of pictures organized, while I work my way through them to scan some and divide them out. I plan to send them to the appropriate family members.

Among all the photo albums, I found a book that my mom had started for me. It’s a scrapbook. Last night as I looked through the old cards, pictures, newspaper clippings, etc I came to the realization that I get my love of scrapbooking from her. I’m not sure that she still has a love for it now, but I can tell that back then she really wanted to record everything she could to help me see how life was back then and how much I was loved. I’m anxious for you to see some of the stuff that’s in there!

Beyond all that I have boxes of stuff from school; old report cards, band, dance, sports-related memorabilia from my school days. Of course, I have tons of stuff from Dixie Belles. Packing all that stuff up to bring back home made me miss that time in life so much. So as time goes on, I’ll be blogging about my treasures that I brought back from Fort Worth.

Christmas?

Posted by Magnolia Mom On December 5, 2008ADD COMMENTS

I’m still in awe that it’s the Christmas season. A couple days ago Rob pulled down all the Christmas stuff. It’s amazing how our stuff seems to multiply every year. So today I did some cleaning and put out all the Christmas stuff out. It’s always a walk down memory lane as I unwrap all my stuff. I plan to taking a camera tour of all the Christmas stuff and tell the memories I have of each thing.

Tomorrow we’re going to the Christmas tree farm to cut down a tree and bring it home and decorate it. Every year when we decorate the tree it’s bitter sweet. My Granddad absolutely loved Christmas and I think of him a great deal during Christmas time and especially when we’re decorating the tree. He was such a giver. Granddad loved to go shopping even when it wasn’t Christmas. He was the one who always took me school clothes shopping. Granddad has been gone for 9 and half years, which in so many ways, it doesn’t seem that long. I wish he could have met Monkey Boy.

    Stuff with Invisible Legs!

Posted by Magnolia Mom On December 28, 2006ADD COMMENTS

It seems that each year after Christmas everthing we give or get for Christmas has invisible legs. What I mean by that is that as hard as I try, there is Christmas gifts everywhere. I try to find a home for all the new toys, DVDs, books, clothes, and whaterever else. But I feel as though as soon as I put it down the invisible little legs pop out and they find their way back to the middle of living room floor! As much as I want someone to come look at the house, it’s probably a good thing no one has come since Christmas, because it just hasn’t been pretty! I worked along time today on getting this place presentable. We’ll be gone tomorrow and we need to have the house looking good in case we have people come look at it.

Anyone else have stuff everywhere after Christmas?

    Busy, busy, busy….

Posted by Magnolia Mom On June 22, 2006ADD COMMENTS

Well, not really! More like lazy, lazy, lazy! It has been so HOT! We set up the little fishy pool up and the kids have been playing in there some. I got an email from my dad saying he’d be here Sunday or Monday. We had expected him to come next week and then last week when my uncle didn’t finish the race, he called and said he wouldn’t be coming. And now he said he is coming. This house is nasty! To refresh your memory, I saw my dad back in January and before that I hadn’t seen him since 2002. Back in January was his first time to come to my house, so I wanted it to be spotless! It was. I worked my tail off and I even shampooed the carpets downstairs. And this time….hmmm…I should be able to go above and beyond that, since it’s summer, but some how I don’t see that happening. So excuse me while I go get my Super Woman cape on! ;-)

    Spring Break

Posted by Magnolia Mom On March 29, 2006ADD COMMENTS
    Tree in the Backyard

Ok, why is it that work weeks creep by, but spring break flies by in the blink of an eye? It’s Wednesday already! Yes, I’m sorry for those of you who work year round and I know I’m lucky to have off when I do. I just can’t help it. I’m dreading going back to work, because for 2 straight weeks the kids will be taking the SAT10 and the ARMT. Yuck!

Normally when I have a day off here or there I spend it cleaning, washing, you know all that fun stuff called house work? So I told myself I wouldn’t spend the week cleaning. In fact, I haven’t done hardly anything around the house except washing clothes, which isn’t optional.

Last Saturday we started working on this awful flower bed area in our backyard that was horrendous! Weeds, overgrown bushes, poison ivy, other thorny vines. Yah, it was bad. We got it pretty much cleared out and this week I’ve done some work on it by myself since Mr. M has had to work. We went to Lowes and got some stuff we want to plant. We still need to get border, ground cover, and potting soil. I’ll be sure to post a pic when we’re done.

The picture above is a tree in our backyard that has pretty purple blooms.
