Mummy Pin/Magnet

Makes: 1
Making Time: 10-20 minutes depending on age

Materials:
Wooden ice cream spoon
White glue
2 googly eyes
1 magnet (or instead of making a magnet you can use a safety pin if you prefer to show it off with your favorite Halloween shirt)
5-6 White Jersey potholder loops or 1 old white shoe lace

Mummy Pin/Magnet

Instructions:

1. Cut each loop one time, so that it is no longer a loop.

2. Spread glue on both sides of spoon.

3. After getting one end of loop to stick, wrap entire spoon with white loops. I found that the pot holder loops work much better than the shoe lace. Looks more ‘real’ too.

4. Determine which side will be the front. The side that will be your back is where you can tuck loose ends in so they’re not sticking out.

5. Separate the at the top and glue on eyes.

Table Decorations

Posted by Magnolia Mom On December 29, 2008ADD COMMENTS

After making the Gingerbread house, I had the boys go out in the yard and look for some pine cones. I painted them. Then pulled out some glittery thingys and some glue. The boys decorated them and we placed them on the table wear the food was going to be on Christmas Day.

Today after hours of slaving in the kitchen for tomorrow, I took a break to help the boys make these cute turkeys to share with everyone at Turkey Day tomorrow.

Christmas Traditions

Posted by Magnolia Mom On December 5, 20051 COMMENT

Lisanne recently wrote a beautiful post about Christmas traditions. It’s great having wonderful family traditions to look back on. Christmas was always my Grandfather’s favorite time of year. Each year as we decorate the house with all of our decorations, tears roll down my face as I think about Granddad and how he would get into the Christmas spirit. He had such a generous heart and he loved to buy for others. It didn’t matter what he got, because he got such a thrill when Grandmother and I were excited about our gifts. Some family traditions that we used to do were:

Rainbow of Fruit Flavors

Posted by Magnolia Mom On November 2, 2005ADD COMMENTS

TV Boy has a paint set with all sorts of paint, paint brushes, paint sponges, and an apron. Undoubtedly, this was a gift from a loving grandparent :-) . He painted with it tonight. I helped him clean it up, but I know I will be seeing colors for weeks everywhere! My house can now be called the house of Rainbow of fruit flavors since it will be tracked from one end to the other!
