Magnolia Mom

I usually don’t write about politics. I’m not really one to publically voice my opinions about stuff like this, but I’m really the need to vent right now. I’m on facebook as is most of the world, and have “friends” of all sorts. Anyway, I won’t go into specifics about that as I shouldn’t go down that road. I just don’t get why people feel the need to have such absolute hatred for certain people in politics, especially ones that have never had any jurisdiction you and have in no direct way effected you.

I totally understand that people are going to have different views and although I dislike certain ideas and decisions made by past or present presidents, I in no way wouldn’t ever wish to harm or even express hatred towards them.

How high school is it to throw things at politicians? Sheesh…

Magnolia Mom has been silent for quite some time. I still read blogs, just don’t write on mine. I’d like to find a ‘new blog home’ someday, but for now I’m gonna stick here. Not sure how much I’ll write, but I just read an entry and it just tugged at my heart. A brand new dad ships off to Afghanistan just a week after his son was born, only to die in combat not even a month later. This family needs your prayers.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything blogged about much by so many people at one time. The Croc Hunter has died. Like someone else said, at least he died doing what he loved. RIP

Arcadia / Liquid

Tonight something got me thinking about an awesome club I went to in Dallas (1994-1995). It was called Arcadia. It was built in 1920′s as a theater and operated that way until the 80′s (I believe) and then it became a club. I went there as a college student and I enjoyed the music, the lighting effects, and the music videos that they showed on the big screen. I have lots of wonderful memories from that place, which make it all more disheartening to know that it recently burned down. I didn’t know this until this evening when I started thinking about it and decided to search for it only to find this! It’s so sad to see things like this happen, but it does.
