For those of you who like buttons, I made a new button today. I’ve put it on my sidebar also along with my business photography button. Here’s the code for my pretty new button if you would like to use it.

As you have noticed (if you’ve actually visited from your readers) that after years of having the same blog theme that I’ve absolutely loved, I decided to take the plunge and try something different. This is a really different feel. I’ve got plans for my blog, although, those plans probably won’t be able to be put into effect for awhile. We shall see.

Buuuttt….while I was trying to figure out what I was going to do I found some cool tools, I thought I’d share. Color Schemer is a neat tool to help with color schemes, obviously. I could see even using this for things other than the web! Check it out!

While looking for unique backgrounds I found Pattern Cooler, which is another awesome site. Tons of different patterns and you can alter the colors. Really cool, really fun. I love stuff like that!

Then, this evening I don’t even remember what I was doing, but I came across Kevin and Amanda’s site, which is a fun blog with awesome free fonts among other things. What’s even cooler is when I was looking through their free fonts, I saw the Auburn font. Of course, this got my curiosity up, wondering if it had to do with Auburn University or something else. After looking around a little I found Kevin got his under grad degree from AU! War Eagle!

Anyway, just wanted to share those cool links that I found. Let me know what you think of the new layout. I am in the process of adding stuff and messing with some stuff so if something looks wonky with it try again after a few minutes to see if it gets fixed.

Over on this awesome site, they do Fix it Friday, where this original picture is straight out of the camera and needs a little help. I messed around and tried several different things including some different actions. I’ve been indecisive about posting this photography here or on my photog biz site. Guess I’ll just stick with it here. =)

Yesterday a good part of the day was spent doing web work on my business site with Rob while watching Animal Planet. I think it was a Dogs 101 marathon. One of the shows that was on was about presidential dogs, which I found to be very interesting.

It was probably inspired by the fact that the Obama girls are getting a puppy soon. The show talked about what type of dog would be suitable for them. One of the commentators on the show was from the Presidential Pet Museum, which totally intrigued me and I SO wanna go. Staff there recommends a Portuguese Water Dog, because it’s non-allergenic, doesn’t shed, and is intelligent among other reasons. One of the main concerns of the Obama’s is that one of their daughters is allergic to dog fur. It’s amazing when I googled for information how many people have written articles about their dog selection!

I have found tons of new blogs over the holidays. I won’t talk about them now because I’m going to be doing something exciting with that later. Stayed tuned! Anyway, there’s this one blog that I just have to tell you about. If you haven’t found it, well you need to check it out. It’s lifehackery.com and they write about “useful, unusual and (sometimes) ironic tips and tricks to hack your life into shape.”
