Homemade Pasta & Meatballs
The bottom-left side of the picture is the Italian sausage cut up.

Servings: 6-8
Prep Time: 45 minutes
Cooking Time: 3 hours +

For sauce:
1 lb. of Italian Sauage
1 large can of tomato sauce
1 large can of crushed tomatoes
1 can of tomato paste
Italian seasonings (Oregono, Basil, Red pepper flake)
Garlic powder

For Meatballs:
2 lbs of ground beef
2 cups of Italian Bread crumbs
1 egg

Put Italian Sausage in large pot with a 2 tablespoons of EVOO
Brown sausage on both sides
Pour in all other other ingredients for sauce
Add water to each can to get extra reminence out of can
Put on low and stir every few minutes

My husband makes the meat balls. We find that making each meatball individually insures that it is mixed well and ensures that it won’t fall apart.

Get about a golf ball size of meat
Roll into egg and then into bread crumbs

Dipping in bread crumbs

For meatballs, get about 2 tbsp of meat, roll through egg and then through bread crumbs
Making meat balls

Continue to roll until ball is firmly made
Carefully drop into sauce
Continue until all meat is made into balls and added to sauce
Cook on low and stir periodically to ensure meat doesn’t stick to bottom of pot
Degrease sauce as grease rises to the top by spooning it out
Cook sauce for at least 3 hours to ensure that meatballs get cooked through
