I was outside today looking at my seedlings, which sit right near our water feature in the backyard. Our water feature is not currently running because we need to replace something on it. And with the lack of rain the reservoir is very low and noticed this little guy struggling to make it up to the 2nd level. I got a shovel and helped him up and then eventually helped him to dry land. I guess the lesson in all this is we need to get the pump going on our water feature!

Tonight Rob and Teenager are away for Teenager’s OA Ordeal, so I treated myself to a “home” spa after putting Monkey to bed. WOW! Who knew a few candles and hot bath could be so relaxing.

Chocolate Chip Pie

Here’s one of the goodies I made for our Easter feast. This is so easy, but so yummy!

Servings: 6-8 pieces
Prep Time: 10 minutes + 8 hours to chill
Cooking Time: 0 minutes

Ingredients:
1 15 oz. package chocolate chip cookies (18-20 cookies)
1 cup milk
1 9 oz. graham cracker pie crust
1 8 oz. frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 cup chocolate syrup

Directions:
1. Dunk 7 cookies down in milk. Place in a single layer in graham cracker crust. Spread half of chocolate syrup. Then layer with 1/3 of the whipped topping.

2. Repeat step 1 until you have a total of three layers of cookies and whipped topping.
3. Crumble 2 chocolate chip cookies, sprinkle over pie, and cover.
4. Chill 8 hours before serving.

This ‘baby’ tree is so cool. It started growing last year and has grown quite considerably since. I’ve noticed it gets these little pink things on the leaves. I’m not sure if the tree does that or if something is causing it to do that or if it’s some type of parasite. Anyone else know?

Randomness

I mentioned last week that I’ve been stressed about an important life happening. Well, there is still no resolve with it. Still playing the waiting game. I hope to be able to share all this with you by the end of the week. I pray it’s GOOD NEWS, but I’m scared and I don’t know. Anyway, I won’t ramble on about that any longer.

I’ve still got some 365 pics to get caught up on. Maybe tomorrow. Don’t know. Today was the last day of school for my boys. They are excited. I now have an 8th grader and a 2nd grader! WOW! Where does the time go? I know it’s a rhetorical question that everyone says when they have kids. But seriously people! I know I’m not old enough to have an 8th grader! Wha??? For realz??? I’m hoping to get some good shots of them in the next week or 2. I was hoping the weather would spare us, but it’s already in the mid-90’s everyday. YUCK!

In other random news, I’m really wanting to blog about some books I’ve read and make that part of my blogging repertoire. I’ve found several bloggers lately, who I admire and love how they write about books! It’s great to see and know what others are reading. I use Goodreads, but there’s something nice about seeing in blog format.

What else? This weekend is Memorial Day weekend! Anyone got any exciting plans? It looks like we’ve got a fun-filled weekend ahead with lots of different friends and some family. I’m hoping hoping hoping that I can sigh my sigh of relief and actually celebrate with good news! **fingers crossed and praying**
